Lot 43- Trade Mark Lightning – Quart – Amber Yellow with slight Olive Tone – Whittled

Size: Quart

Base Marking: Putnam 131

Color: Bright Yellow Green with Matching Lid

Scarcity: Scarce

Condition:  Excellent with a nearly perfect ground mouth showing only a few inner nicks from grinding process and having a nice overall whittled effect to the glass

Closure:  Original Lightning neck wire has been retied at some point with Matching Lid

Embossing Strength:  Strong

Period: Late 1800’s

Patent Dates: PATD JAN 5 75. REISD JUNE 5 77. PATD APR 25 82. (ON LID)

Mold Notes: TYPE III – TRADE MARK with 3/8″ space between Trade and Mark. The lettering is larger standing only 3/8″ tall AND LIGHTNING has 9/16″ lettering height and spans across jar a total of 4 1/8″. (THIS IS THE JAR USED AND SHOWN AS TYPE III ON HGCS LIGHTNING PAGE)
