Lot 12 -Mason-s 58 Only Midget Pint Jar

Size:  PINT

Base Marking: 1

Color:  Aqua

Scarcity: Comparatively Scarce

Condition:  swirling in glass body of jar, light whittle on backside, minor nicking and one flat chip along outside top sealing area

Closure:  Early Zinc Lid with Horizontal Lug and Milkglass Liner. Very Good, no damage, pinholes or splits.

Embossing Strength:  Strongly embossed

Period:  Late 1800’s

Patent Dates: Patented Nov 30th 1858

Mold Notes:  (High Dash for Apostrophe in Masons) and 58 Only for Patent Date embossed on jar- Attributed to Ball Brothers Manufacturing. Base Marking #1 also indicates this was, most likely, the earliest mold used to blow this specific style jar.
